I have a 2016 Acura RDX v6 2WD with 30k miles on it
The maintenance-minder owners manual says to change the transmission fluid every 30k miles. Is this overkill and can I wait or what do you think?
Manual further days to do a “flush.” I don’t have the equipment to flush just drain and fill. Will this require a mechanic or preform?
thankfully,
Tom
Manual: Most manufacturers recommend that manual transmission fluid be changed every 30,000 to 60,000 miles. Under heavy-duty use, some manufacturers suggest changing transmission fluid every 15,000 miles.
Automatic: Service intervals for an automatic transmission vary from every 30,000 miles ... to never. The typical service interval is 60,000 to 100,000 miles. Changing it more often does no harm.
On Hondas and Acuras, 30K is not an overkill IMHO. Drain and fill only, never flush please.
I would wait until 60k and don't go to the dealership unless you have ample Vaseline!
