scotty help,
my car just got flooded yesterday, the water reach up to the gear selector. My seats are soaking wet except the trunk.
I have 2010 Honda civic with 86k miles, Carvana offered me last week for 4 grand but now it is flooded. I don't have any insurance coverages except the liability, what do you think the best thing I should do?
First of all don’t start it.
Next, try to clean the damage ASAP before your electronics get corroded & ruined. You’re really stuck between a rock & a hard place..

That's the risk you take when you don't have insurance. I'm sorry that your car flooded. If it got so much water in it, it's probably totalled.
As @InThrustWeTrust said, don't start it and follow Scotty's advice to try and save it. But flood water has a terrible stench to it and the smell alone made me ditch a car I had after a few weeks.
sorry

i just checked, it went right in the dash. And haven't been 24 hrs yet. But I it smell nasty now, cause of the summer heat here in NJ
Yeah I live in Texas and the heat here caused the smell to be awful. Nothing could get it out, even smoke bombs, etc.
Hello Scotty,
so this morning I posted an question here regarding on my flooded 2010 civic, when I was thinking what should I do cause I don't have comprehensive coverage with my insurance. I saw this site named CarVio, and I gave my car's info, and they offered me 2 grand for the car. I believed that the car still running cause I start it the night after the flood and it runs, but I don't have the time and patience to do the work to fix it. Any thoughts?
thanks,
Keep everything pertaining to the same issue together in one topic. Thanks.
Did you check the engine air filter, before you started it?
I did check, the sides are wet but not up to the middle part.
