I hear you talk about not changing fluid in vehicles with like 200k miles, but mine was bought used with 128k miles and I am unsure if the previous owner replaced the transmission fluid. Is it safe to replace it now? At what mileage would you say it's safe and where is the cutoff?

It's a mix between the second and third one. In the pictures. Not as dark as the thirds and nowhere even close to the 4th. Somewhere between 2 and 3.
Does it smell burnt?
A little bit. Nothing I'd say is overwhelming.
I’d change it every 30,000 miles from now on using the OEM Honda fluid (check your owner’s manual for the fluid spec). Save the old fluid in a clean container temporarily, just in case.
