Hello, I'm a newer college student that wants to be a nice standard transmission car that's actually practical. My top two options are a 2010 Honda Civic SI coupe with 86k miles and a 2014 Ford Fiesta ST with 165k miles on it. The Fiesta costs $3200 and the Civic has been negotiated down to $4000. Have yet to check either car for issues, but I'm almost certain the ford does. If I go for the Honda, my only real downside is the lack of space and that I'll have to wait until December to buy.

I'd take the Honda over the Ford. Ideally, I'd say scratch those two and get a used Corolla. But if the only choices are those two, get the Honda. $4000 for a 2010 Civic with 86k doesn't sound too bad. Just make sure that it all checks out, as the Si is the high-end coupe and 86k is low miles. As Scotty says, have a mechanic check that out. Luckily in 2010 they don't use timing belts anymore (they switched to chains in 2006, when the redesigned the Civic line).
Yeah, I need to contact my mechanic to come with me. I'm just glad my dad has some connections in the industry and found someone trustworthy.
I would wait for the Honda Civic Si. The 2010 model is a good year, just check for any mods and anything that may seem like they drove it hard. $4000 for that low of mileage is a pretty good price so I would buy the Civic Si. The Civic Si will most likely last longer than the Fiesta as the Fiesta has to many miles on it. I know the Fiesta is newer and may have more features, but you could always add features like a new stereo if you want it.
@toyotasrule
Thank you, I would get a toyota but all the ones for sale are out of my price range, glad a civic will do
No problem and I understand, a lot of Toyota's are out of a lot of peoples price range.
Go for the Civic! If its a good car after checking it ofc, it will out last the ford most likely by much more miles.
Those little Honda's are solid. I have a 2007 and never had any issues really.
@suzuki
Thank you will do!
