Hi this is my first post sorry if its long. I'm looking for a newer model of truck I was gonna go with the 2021 Ram 1500 but while researching I found scotty and when someone who's been a mechanic for 50+ years says it's not such a good truck I'll trust them. But now I'm kinda lost so I came here for suggestions, I'm looking for a daily driver that can haul (I don't care about towing capacity) and is reliable I truly appreciate any input you guys can give me.

when it comes to reliability, you should look at either a ford f series with a naturally aspirated engine, or a toyota tundra/tacoma. the toyotas are by far the most reliable, but they are much more expensive, they don't have as many options, and they're not quite as powerful or rated as strong as the fords.
If you are talking full-size trucks, then Toyota Tundra > 2013-2017 Ford F-150 (only with naturally aspirated V8 and 6-speed Auto) > 2012-2015 Nissan Titan in that order.
Stay away from the Ram 1500s, Chevy Silverado 1500s, and any Ford F-150 for model years 2018 and newer.
Some of my family and friends have RAM 1500 pickups and they are ok pickups. The 5.7 Hemi is a good motor and this one is tuned for towing rather than speed. The transmission is bulletproof.
The Ford f150 still uses the 10speed transmission which isn't good. The GM trucks uses various different engines and transmissions variations and you know what to expect from GM.The new Toyota tundra hasn't been out that long and it could be bad.
It’s such a toss up with 1/2 ton trucks anymore. I’ll be perfectly honest with you there’s really no difference between Ford, GM and FCA quality anymore. Toyota is a standout but the Japanese really don’t care to get to far down the 1/2 ton rabbit hole, the Tundras towing and payload are embarrassing. No one makes a genuine 1/2 ton pickup truck at all. You decide what style you like and what trim you want and pray it’ll at least go 100k mi before anything goes terribly wrong. I currently drive a 2015 F150 5.0 and I can’t even open my back doors cause the actuator sticks. The doors creak opening and closing, had to much surface rust on rear axle and it’s never seen salt in its life. The transmission, although decent compared to the 10 speed, clunks from 3-4 gear regardless of speed. That 5.0 I’m proud of though the Canadians build solid motors. My buddies 2019 GM 1500 transmission clunks motor replaced at 60k mi, electronics get Hicked up every once in awhile, my dads 17 rebel manifold bolts gave out needed replaced I mean it really doesn’t matter what “US” manufacturer you’re buying from now. You’re rolling the dice.
What’s the mileage on your 2015 F150?

I wish you good luck finding a semi-reasonable priced full size truck right now. A local Ford dealership had a mid 2010s F-150 with over 218k on it the other day, and they were asking close to $18,300 for it. In this market, you're gonna pay way too much regardless. If you get the Toyota, it's longevity will guarantee you get some kind of money out of it down the road, as long as you take care of it. You're rolling the dice on domestics like that F-150 down the street.
