I have a 2003 Toyota Corolla with 160,000 miles automatic transmission , in May I changed out the air filter cleaned out the throttlebody and then August I changed all four spark plugs in the car and it has been running great but then on 9/4/22 I changed my fuel filter and the sock my fill unit but now in order for me to get it started I have to Press on the gas pedal to start . It seems to crank really fast and then when I give it gas it will start but it doesn’t seem to be every single time but it is quite often please help thank you
One possibility could be a faulty fuel pump; this was the problem on one of my cars that you would have to press on gas pedal to get it to start.
Should I take the car in to get tested? That way I’m not spending a lot of money on guesses?
If you can't diagnose it yourself then yeah have a trusted independent mechanic inspect it to figure out what it exactly is.
