For the past couple months my Altima's steering wheel has become harder and harder to turn, either left or right. I had the rack and pinion changed and this only slightly helped. I have to use both hands to turn the thing.

Did you have the pressure tested to see if the power steering pump is working OK?
Yes, I was told it was working ok.
Who tested it and how did they test it? It looks like you have hydraulic power steering operated by an electric pump. Check fuses and relays, and the electrical connection to the pump.
