Engine stalling

So the "Check Engine" light came on, on my Nissan March/Micra 2003 Model(automatic transmission). The "check engine" light is not blinking but it comes on when I start the car and the car shuts off shortly after. I took it to a mechanic who then scanned the car with the "OBD Scanner" and when he was done, he told me that my "FAN SWITCH TEMPERATURE SENSOR" has gone bad and needs to be changed. So I went ahead, purchased a new temperature sensor and had it installed. As soon as the sensor got installed, I started the car up again. The car started easily and the check engine light disappeared. However, after about 10 mins, the "Check Engine" light came back on and the car shut off again. I tried starting the car several times again however, it does the same thing. It starts up fine but the check engine light comes on and shuts off shortly after. I'm not sure what's causing this, but I'm hoping that you guys can assist. Thank you!! {black}

What is causing this issue and how do I approach & fix it?

I have no idea. Either the place that installed the sensor screwed something up or something else has coincidentally failed. The thing is 20 years old so it could be almost anything. What did you find when you scanned it for codes and live data?

Get it scanned by somebody else (auto parts store) and let us know what the codes are.  Thanks.

the "Check Engine" light came back on

if the light is on, then you need to run a diagnostic scan

So I went ahead and purchased a new temperature sensor like you mentioned, and had it installed. However, I'm now experiencing problems with the car staying on. It starts up just fine but the check engine light comes on and the car shuts off shortly after. The check engine light is not blinking but it is on. What is causing this issue and how do I approach & fix it?
