[Solved] No heat into cabin

Scotty, I have a question all the way from England. My brother in law has a 2009 Jeep Cherokee ltd edition with the 4 cylinder 2.9ltr Diesel engine, the issue is that there's no heat going into the cabin from the heating system. He's taken it to garages that scratch their heads because all the heater flaps seem to work ok, the engine temperature is normal, there is some warm heat to start with but blows cold after a few minutes, one mechanic said it could be the Climate control valve but I thought I'd ask you before my brother in law starts paying someone to pull his car apart, what do you think?

The first simple thing to do is to take the heater hoses off and run a garden hose into it to see how much flow can come out the other side.  This would check to see if the core is restricted or not. What comes out the other end will tell you a lot. if the water coming out the other side comes out as fast as you put in..i wouls say its not restricted. But if the other side is very slow...aha...it is probably clogged up. You can then put the hose in from the other side and try to back flush it to try to unclog it.  Alternating back and forth should clear the core as much as you can.  If the core was plugged and you cleaned as much as possible - put the hoses back on - refill the coolant system and try the heater out. Was their an improvement or not ?   Hope this helps and cheers....

Thank you, I'll pass that on.

Typically this would be a problem with the coolant going through your heater core. The core could be clogged up or there would be air in the path that is preventing the coolant from circulating through the core.

I'd recommend flushing the coolant. Scotty has a number of videos on how to do that. It's pretty painless and cheap to do.
