Scotty, You should stop recommending the MODEL BC-12W-PRO SOLAR BATTERY CHARGER on youtube.
I bought one on 3/7/2024 and tried to use it only to find out that my car's cigarette lighter is on only while the car is started.
I emailed the company twice on 3/18/24 & 3/27/24 and have not received an answer! The ad says 12 hour response...
1998 Range Rover, P38, 4.6 HSE (4.6 L V8-GEMS Engine, 4-Speed Auto, AWD).
If I run two DC CABLEs from my battery (1 on each terminal lead) with a fuse on the power side -will that work for this Solar charger?
Thanks,
Chris

That was supposed to come with 3 connectors.
Cigarette Lighter
Bare Wire
Alligator Clips.
Attach the Red clip to Battery Positive and the Black Clip to battery Negative.

Yes it came with those, they are not long enough and the alligator clips won't stay connected. It would be easier to run new wires for the length I need with a more secure connection to the battery terminals. If my idea will work? Thanks for the thoughts!
Thank Y'all for all of your suggestions with this! I really appreciate it. I think I will be okay now. This is a great site because you respond so quickly with such great information -God Bless Y'all!

You should stop recommending
why? it works for Scotty, and it works for many people. It would work on my car.
my car's cigarette lighter is on only while the car is started.
That's why they give you the aligator clips leads so you can put it directly on the battery.

That's something that should have been taken into consideration before purchase. Many cars are set up that way. It's not clear what kind of support you're looking for from the manufacturer, there's nothing they can do about the way the cigarette lighter in your car is wired.
As others have mentioned you can connect the charger directly to the battery using the other supplied connectors. Another possibility would be to construct a cable that plugs into the power pins of the OBD2 port, the way that memory savers do, since power is always hot there.
