Is it normal to burn 1/4 quart every 3000 miles 2010 CVPI 137,050mi 1561idle hr (188,500 mi if calculate idle hours and add to mileage) I’m pretty sure that it’s fine but just trying to make sure. You can smell oil burning after accelerating to merge into highway or pushing it hard there’s no smoke and you can’t really smell it on the outside just on the interior (what is most likely to cause it valve seals, valve guides, piston rings, and/or something else)

I have no idea what a "CVPI" is. In any event a quart every 12,000 miles is certainly not anything to worry about.

Crown Victoria Police Interceptor and thank you

Actually, I'm surprised it doesn't burn more considering the "typical usage" of such cars; lots of idling, hard accelerations, etc. If it only burns 1/2 quart every 6000 miles, that's not bad at all!

Considering how hard those police interceptors were used, to only burn that much oil every 3,000 miles is pretty impressive.

Well that's only small amount. It's normal for engines to burn some oil when they get older.
