Oil in Sparkplug holes

Hi Scotty,

I have a Mitsubishi Lancer 2001 with 233k kms on it. When I press on gas it takes lots of time to accelerate.

Initially I poured "Nulon Pro Strength Petrol Fuel System Extreme Clean" into gas tank but no success. So decided to change spark plugs/fuel filter .Started with spark plugs. Two spark plug holes are filled with oil. I guess I have to replace the spark plug hole seals and the gasket. I was wondering the spark plug cables (one end in oil) can I re-use them? If so how to clean them? or do I have to replace them as well.

Please let me know.

Today I replaced all the spark plugs, wall seals, & valve cover gasket..Only issue is my spark plug boot does not get seated properly. seems but loose...Drove the car for 1/2 kms and seems has improved a little (need to drive bit more)..when I stopped I heard a "pop" sound seems boots coming off...How can make them seal/tight ? will loose boot make big issues?

Well if they aren't sure did I'll you can reuse them just clean them with spray cleaner

What about spraying degreaser and let them dry as oil inside these?

Make sure you replace your air filter - cheap, easy, and often a source of poor acceleration.

You will have to replace the valve cover gasket to stop the oil leak.

Yes. i will replace this with spark plug seals
