Hi. Always have had same Hyundai dealer do oil change like every 5k miles. Last 2 oil changes have had oil overfilled about 2 inches past Full on dipstick.
2013 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid with 96,000 miles - bought the Hyundai 100k extended warranty and car new from same dealer. Don't see any leaks underneath and oil smells ok, maybe a slight bit milky colored.
The last time, 90K, oil was overfilled dealer checked out car and did free oil change and after that level was at Full.
Any ideas why this happened a second time in row?
Is a non hybrid sonata more oil capacity?
Are they damaging the engine about to go off warranty in 4K?
Should I insist they check anything in particular? Had to do a several hundred mile trip for a funeral was reason I checked oil.
Dealer doesn't even top off my anti freeze or washer fluid if not below Low, so why would they waste extra quart or 2 of oil?
Thanks
Sloppy work by the dealer. Over filling by that much can cause serious engine damage.
fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me
the idiots probably didn't drain the old oil, and just added new oil on top.
