Hello Scotty,
What's your opinion on BMW Motorcycles?
I love the look on some of them, especially the S1000RR.
However, if something breaks in them, are they just as complicated to work on like their cars?
Thanks!
They are expensive but super nice bikes. Not nearly as difficult to work on as the cars because there are just less parts to a bike.
If you are ok with the price they are a solid purchase.
Similar to BMW cars, you need to maintain them (and the maintenances are usually expensive) in order to keep them in tip top shape.
Well, they are beautiful and fast motorcycles, especially the S1000RR, but they are not as reliable as the major Japanese brands. They are roughly twice as expensive for comparable levels of performance as the Japanese brands. They are complex to service, and there are relatively few dealerships, so they charge an arm and a leg.
It's your money, spend it however you like. But I would get a Suzuki Hayabusa or Honda CBR1100XX Super Blackbird and have enough money left over to buy a ton of cool riding gear, pay for track days and stay at 4 star hotels on bike trips.
I like the R1200RT but for my money, I'll go with the Yamaha FJR1300 all day long.
@Doc Consider Kawasaksi Concourse (C14). 🙂 🙂 🙂
I like that one too but its looks turn me off. Something about the shape of the tank.
