My 07 Avalanche with 154k miles had a p0449 vent valve solenoid is bad. I replaced it with a new one and cleared the codes and check engine light didn't come back... until a month later CEL came back with a p0442 small evap leak. What could've happened and what could I try doing to fix it.

Did you replace your gas cap? If so, go back and check all your evap valve connections for tightness.
