I have a 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 3.7. It’s got about 130k miles and it’s an automatic. It has the P0507 code and I’ve tried the following fixes:
- cleaning the throttle body
- feeling around for leaks in hoses. Even sprayed some water on the hoses while it was running to see if it would idle differently. Didn’t see or feel any leaks. No change in idle when I sprayed water.
I read up on the IAC valve but it doesn’t seem like mine has it? I also saw something about a PCV valve. My PCV valve does look rusted but not sure if that means it needs to be replaced?
Vehicle Symptoms:
It started to take a while to turn on. Not super long but maybe about 5 seconds of cranking and then it would start which wasn’t normal. Every now and then it would turn on but not fully and shake. I’d just turn it off and on again and it was fine. The weather is starting to get colder though and this morning it did not turn on. It cranked 3 times but then stopped cranking. I jumped it and it finally turned on and has been turning on as normal (with the delay in starting but it starts) for the past few hours.
Any help would be appreciated!

Have your alternator load tested. Places like autozone and the like will test them for free for you.
