Patriot u joints

I own a 2010 Jeep Patroit 4x4, it has about 150k miles, i have a clunking/rattling noise. You can feel that it comes from the center rear and its when you accelerate.. ive watched your video and i believe its my U joints, but when i look for the parts everyone sends me to the Jeep dealer and they said i have to buy the entire driveshaft for over $1k. Is there no way around this. Changing them out is easy and its driving me nuts to spend that much for something that can be done under $50. I hope you can help me or someone can. Thank you in advance!

Go to any chain auto parts store to get your u joints an maybe a center support bearing.  Tell the local Jeep dealer to go pound sand.

I already did I have gone to oriellys, napa etc and they all wanna tell me they can't find anything for that.. and refer me to the dealership..

That's a lot of BS. Go online and have them ship you the parts. I found them every place I looked, AutoZone, Advance, O'Reilly, NAPA, Car Geek, Rock Auto, etc., etc.

I tried looking on Rock Auto and typed in all my jeeps info and looked for u joints and nothing came up.. I tried typing universal joints and nothing.. apparently jeep said they were surprised as well but seems that for this particular vehicle it is.. idk I'm getting pissed cuz I know they can be changed out but no one will help..

You can find those parts anywhere if you look hard enough. Check out RockAuto. You can't always trust that the clerks in the auto parts stores know anything about cars. I wanted to buy new tailgate support cables for my truck a few weeks ago. The counter girl was trying to find electrical cables for the tailgate even after I explained what they are three times...

justin, did you ever come up with a solution to covering your catalina for the winter?

Further investigation shows that they are made by Moog but you need the dimensions of the joints, ie, length and cap diameter.

I believe the correct part is Moog #378.  Worst case scenario is to take the shaft to a drive line shop and have them do it.

Ok I do have a shop that can do them they said they will charge 10$ each to do.. I will see if they can help too.. I really appreciate it!!
