Hi Scott

I have a peugeot 3008 2.0 2010. I am getting a intermittent dead throttle (drive by wire) I replaced the pedal but it's still the same.  I suspect it's the ecu and I'm not phased about doing repairs in it. But I can't find any information about what normally fails and why.

Do you think I'm on the right track or is there anything you suggest trying first.  I have a Delphi ds150e and nothing seems out of the ordinary

Thanks for your advice

Chris Schultz

clarification: Is It a diesel? Did you check wether the throttle position corresponds to the aim/desired value set by the ECU?

Yes it's a 2ltr diesel with a 6speed transmission automatic. Throttle is registering correctly in software.

Throttle is registering correctly in software

So you're saying that the throttle becomes dead and that is registered in live data?

Is that a "Aim"/"Desired"/"Command" value or "Calibrated"/"Actual"??

Correct

IS that the value the ECU is requesting??? or is that the value it is reading from the TPS???

Unfortunately don't sell peugeot's here in the United States. So I have no experience with them. But the only thing that can go wrong is the throttle accelerator pedal sensor, the wiring the throttle itself or of course the main computer that feeds the data. Good luck on that one. I stop working on French cars about 40 years ago

Thanks for your reply. I have replaced the pedal the wiring tests ok. I may have to book some dyno time to get the data to be sure of my diagnosis

Well I am only going deeper into the rabbit hole. The blower fan and resistor have stopped working so no air conditioning. The throttle issue seems to be the variable geometry turbo dump solenoids on the back of the cylinder head. And the transmission is in need of a service. Plus the load leveling shock absorbers have valve damage which is causing a knock. Once this is all fixed I will decide weather to keep it. It's a beautiful car to drive and it is at the age and ks it needs some attention. It might not be such a good financial choice
