Hey Scotty I’ve been watching your channel for about 3yrs. I recently bought a 2013 Taurus Interceptor with the 3.7 non-turbo engine. I bought it for $4k with 202k miles straight from the municipality, is there anything I should look out for on these?

also in general, are buying PPV (police pursuit  vehicles) from municipalities a good ideas? I’ve seen a lot of crown vics, Taurus interceptors and even the Chevy Caprice PPVs (option with 3.6L V6 or 6.0 Aussie V8) for under $7k? I’ve heard it’s a good idea overall since they’re taken care of well with taxpayer money but the only issue with them is watching the ball joints and suspension parts since these babies get a lot of wear and tear. What’s your opinion?

It is not a good idea to buy a cop car. These cars were driven hard and idles a lot.

I think you paid too much. Those have significant wear and tear on them.

See below regarding PPV:  best to avoid (it had a hard life) and not worth the gamble.

Also that Ford Taurus with the 3.7L Cyclone (or Duratec) V6 engine had the water pump located behind timing chain cover and the water pump was driven by a timing chain, so if water pump leaked then worst case could take out the whole engine.  It was a poor design decision by Ford.  If yours has not been changed, it is on burrowed time.

It was done about 30k miles previously I believe that was for 3.5 which I was told to avoid like the plague

It's far better to ask these questions before you've bought this type of vehicle.
