I have a 2004 ford escape automatic at 179500 miles there are two codes that come up both for the oxygen sensor, p2197 and p2270. My question is why does my brakes lock up and the speedometer jump rise and fall until i reach 30 mph? I know the front passenger caliper needs replaced but i dont understand why it only happens below 30 and the speedometer of course. By the way it only happens when i first start the vehicle. I can stop and go with ease once it has reached 30 it only happens when it i start the engine and begin to accelerate. It does not do it in reverse or at least i cant percieve if it does or not.

Check for vacuum leaks.

replace the wheel speed sensors.
