[Solved] Ran over a curb now creaking noise from front suspension

2019 Mustang with 20,000 miles. Oversteer on wet road (don't make fun, I could've made up something less embarrassing).

-Ran over curb with tires in the same direction (rolled over curb, didn't hit sideways).

-Zero rim damage

-Tires did not deflate

-Car does not pull left or right at all at any speed

-Steering wheel does not shake at any speed so alignment seems untouched? Or could it still be messed up?

-Nothing about the car feels any different other than this noise that I noticed the next day:

What do you think I should do now to fix it?

Someone told me add grease to it, but hitting a curb doesn't cause grease to go away. That might hide it but underlying problem could still be there.

Thanks

Can @mod_man please identify the correct part in this Mustang?

@InThrustWeTrust Verified sir. That is the correct part.

@mod_man cheers mate.

@InThrustWeTrust Cheers! {blackemo}:hotdrink:

Thank you @inthrustwetrust and @mod_man I replaced the part and it is fixed

The part that @InThrustWeTrust linked is the correct replacement piece. It's not too hard of a job to do really, but if I were you I would get a good front end mechanic to put it on a lift, get it up in the air, and really check out everything to make sure that is the only piece that needs replacement.

Curbs can do quite a bit of damage. It sounds like you got lucky this time, but I would want to make 100% sure as you don't want the tires prematurely wearing or something else in the front end out of spec.

Thank you for your help. I replaced the same part that I circled in the original video and the noise is fixed.

If the car tracks straight and steering wheel doesn't vibrate at any speed then that means it doesn't need to be aligned right?

There are so many things that could creak after a curb hit.

To avoid throwing parts at it, you’d need to find a reputed front end alignment shop to load test your front end & reproduce the noise.

Does it make the sound even after the car has fully warmed up?

"Does it make the sound even after the car has fully warmed up?"

It only makes the sound after driving a bit and it's heated up. Does that give any indication to what it could be?

It could point to a cracked/worn out rubber bushing. Try this trick on 1 bushing at a time to isolate the culprit & check if the noise goes away. Although it was designed to prolong worn out rubber, so I’m not sure if it’ll help if the rubber has cracked. But hey, it’ll extend the life of your other rubber suspension parts. Report back if it worked or if the noise still remains.

I would, honestly. But if your tyres don’t start to wear unevenly (long term), then maybe you can get away with it..
