Hi Scotty,
I read some time ago that if you change the wheel size of your car, say from 15" to 16" or 17", or from 18" to 20", that you may have to recalibrate the speedometer/odometer to match the new wheel size. Otherwise, you can get an inaccurate reading. Is this true?

Yes. But I believe it depends on the manufacturers tire option size. I went from a 16 to a 17 in my WRANGLER and the dealer reprogramed speed/odometer.
Thank you! Can that be done by myself or should I have to go to a mechanic to get it done?
@ketong71
it requires very expensive equipment so you may need to a shop that does performance tuning.
Of course it's true. If you roll a 20" wheel ten times, it will go further than if you roll a 15" wheel ten times, because the circumference is different. Try it for yourself with different size jar lids.
