Refrigerant on a 2017 Miata

Hey everyone! Recently I noticed my 2017 Miata, with 77,000mi doesn't blow cold at all. Everything under the hood seems to be good and I don't have a gauge to see if there is refrigerant in the system. I know all cars leak a little refrigerant, but was wondering to what extent on a 2017 Miata.

You can get them at Harbor Freight. They're called AC manifold gauges. You need to first identify what your refrigerant is. It's on a sticker under the hood. It's either R-134a, or R-1234YF. If it's empty, consult a mechanic who specializes in HVAC related things. Don't just blindly pour in refrigerant, especially those that have stop-leak in them. It will likely wreck the AC.

If you're not familiar with working on air conditioning you should take it to an HVAC expert to be checked out. (Find a good local shop, not a chain and not a dealer.) It's all too easy to make things worse or even injure yourself.
