Hello Scotty.
I have an old Suziki 1996 Baleno 1.3i automatic transmission, 210.000 km. I know, maybe this is not best car to keep, but it’s my first car and I try to make it a project car and driving around. It used to run well. Then, the rear gear started to not engage when the engine is hot/warm even when the weather is hot 🙂 When the engine (or the weather) is cold, reverse gear work perfectly with the start. After driving a bit, the reverse gear stops functioning again.
I went to a mechanic and they change the transmission fluid together with transmission gasket and filter. However, this did not solve the problem. This was before I watched your videos and learned that this is not a good move. I bought the car as used one 8 years ago and I don’t think the previous owner changed the transmission fluid at all. What do you recommend? Should I try Lucas Transmission fix or a similar product?
Thank you for your time, in advance, and all the best.
You need a pro to scan the transmission up find out the exact issue.

Thank you @yaser. Unfortunately, those with the most expensive scan tools couldn't find it. Honestly, I don't wanna go for a transmission repair for a cheap and old car. I guess I have to live with it 🙂
Thanks again.
Best.
The scantool should be able to read the transmission data and the person who uses it should be able to analyze the data. if either of these is not available, you can not find the issue. I think this was the case for you since they could not find the issue.
