Scotty, I watched your video on recharging the A/C system. I have a 1985 Toyota MR2 converted to R134A and the A/C system has been inop for some time, probably empty. I bought the gauges and the vacuum pump. When I evacuate the system, will that remove the lubricating oil? Should I start refilling with a can of R134 that contains lubricating oil, or just assume there will be enough remaining oil in the system after evacuation? Thanks, Scotty, your videos are great!!
Robert

Thanks, I changed it
When you evacuate the system with a pump it does not pull the oil out. However there is no way to know how much oil is in there without flushing the system and starting from scratch. If it's been empty for a while (exposed to atmosphere) should do this anyway because the ester oil used in conversions is extremely hygroscopic, even more so than the pag oil used in native R134a systems, and you'd also want to replace the drier.
