Rough idle and black smoke - 93 4runner 2wd V6

I have a 93 4runner with the v6 and 205K miles. The truck was running great but while replacing my power steering hoses, I broke the air valve attached to the PS pump. I decided to glue the valve back together but the car started letting dark smoke out and idling below 500 rpm. I went to the junkyard and got a used one but it did not fix the issue. It did not trigger the check engine light or other lights. I wonder if fluid went to into the air intake plenum. Or maybe a broken vacuum hose? I'm planning on replacing the PS air valve, replace old vacuum hoses, cleaning the plenum and the EGR valve, and adding some some fuel system cleaner to the gas. Any other ideas?

Thank you for your support.

check for broken vacuum house sucking air somewhere and check to make sure you didn't knock any wires or anything off that'll make the air fuel ratio go walkers
