Hello Sir,

I have watched a lot of ur videos and it’s been very helpful. First time asking a question fromRiyadh - Saudi Arabia

I have a 2015 FJ Cruiser with 205000 kms. Recently did a compression test on my FJ cruiser and the readings on the six cylinders range from 128 to 135. The mechanic told me to do a short block change and I was like the engine has never been opened and I was not comfortable. I used sea foam throttle cleaner and fuel additive also from sea foam. I will do an engine flush with sea foam as well.

we do a lot of dune bashing here , so just humbly seeking your advice.  Have the videos for the compression test and will appreciate if you can pls advice me.

sincerely, Yasir

Results are not bad, at 200,000 km (~130k miles), the worst cylinder is only at 94%.

Relative DRY compression tests are used to gauge if the engine is unequally worn - not if there's wear.

What you want to do is a WET/DRY compression.

Well the difference isn't all that great and if it runs okay I just live with it. I've seen Toyota's with 135 that still ran perfectly fine. Just realized compression pressures are somewhat relative. The actual pressure readings are not all that accurate. It's more the difference between them that counts
