2008 Toyota FJ Cruiser. V6, Automatic. Bought new by me. Only 48,000 original miles.
Scotty (& Guys):
Scotty, thanks so much for your answer to my question on your live stream last week. I really appreciate your efforts for me and the other viewers. Not enough space is/was in live chat to tell you that my 2008 FJ Cruiser had only one "professional" service done on it since I bought it new. A complete coolant flush, by machine, 4 years ago at my friend's shop. I do everything myself as far as maintenance & repair on all 7 of my vehicles. Your videos over the last dozen-plus years have been a great help to me.
Looking on the FJ Cruiser Forum (("different spark plugs". I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post the link)), a few owners cited the same odd spark plug issue that I had. Two different plug types (3 Denso & 3 NGK) from the factory. This makes no sense to anyone, yet somehow has occurred more than just to me. What a mystery.
THANKS!
any experience with this, @fjcruiser2014 ?
Take a look at this link from that same forum; obviously you're not alone regarding this and some say it's because "The general consensus is that each head comes from a different supplier and the heads are supplied to Toyota with the plugs installed. The two suppliers happen to use different spark plug mfrs. (Denso & NGK)"

I've never had to change mine yet to actually take a look at it, but I also hadn't heard of this until. Maybe it's only with a certain model year that this has happened with or maybe only a particular batch of the cars. But now it definitely makes me curious to take a look at mine too!
They did it with 3rd gen 4runners too, 3 denso, 3 ngk.
What a fun mystery, but at least they used two good brands for the spark plugs.
I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post the link
go ahead
As always, MMJ, many thanks for your efforts. Here's the FJ Cruiser Forum link on the spark plug issue:
