Sequoia differential oil

Hello I have a 2005 Toyota Sequoia 74000 miles non limited slip rear differential.

it uses 75w90 oil. So I bought full synthetic Lucas oil. But after I finished draining and replacing the oil, I saw that in the bottle it says hypoid gear oil. As I understand it means that it is for limited slip differentials.

would it cause any damage to my non limited slip differential?

thank you

No it doesn't. Most differentials have hypoid gears. Even if it doesn't the lube will still work.

It's just technical language for "high performance gear oil"

No, hypoid gears have nothing to do with limited slip. In a hypoid gearset the pinion drives the ring gear off-center. This design has heavier load capacity than centered gears and allows the propeller shaft to sit lower, which has packaging benefits. (It would not hurt anything if the oil had contained limited-slip additive anyway.)

No.

Thank you

Page 459 of your owner's manual specifies: Hypoid Gear Oil GL-5, front dif - 75w90, rear dif -Synthetic 75w140.

I put 75w90 on the rear.
I’m I still ok till the next oil change in 30k miles, or should I change it asap?

as long as it meets GL-5 specifications, it should be fine.

75w90 will give you slightly better fuel economy
75w140 will give you slightly better film strength and wear protection

Should be OK.
