We used to have a 2006 Chrysler 300 Touring. Midnight Blue Pearlcoat, loaded for a Touring trim, and never gave us problems apart from having to replace one of the fuel pumps. Sadly, it was totaled in a head-on collision. Now I'm getting to the age to get a first car and I've had my eyes on 300's for a very long time. I know not to get the 2.7L V6 because the engine was plagued with problems, and the HEMI's themselves had their problems too. So I was thinking about getting the engine that was in our 06, the 3.5L. However, after looking up the car and its problems and talking with my dad about it. I've come to terms that the car wasn't as glorious as I thought it was. Though this really isn't stopping me from wanting one, I've become hesitant about it. So I've come to you, is it a good idea to chase my childhood dream of having that 300? Or should I let go of it and get a different sedan? And if it seems that I could maybe find another good one, how much should I be willing to pay for it? Thanks!
(I plan on buying it from a private party, as they are usually cheaper. But if I find a good deal from a dealer, I'll take it. And what are your thoughts on the automatic transmission that had the -/+ shifting?)
I'd get something else find whatever car you like that isn't a Chrysler maybe a luxurious Lexus for example. Check out the Used Car Buying Guide below for more info on buying cars.
Get a different vehicle - you will be happy in the long run.
