Should I trade in my BMW X7?

Scotty,

I bought a 2022 BMW X7 spring of last year. I’ve been wanting to reduce my footprint and save some money. It’s not necessary for me to have a luxury SUV. I bought this car thinking I could drive it for 200k miles, 10+ years with minimal maintenance. I realize this is not the case and I don’t really know what to do. Im tired of parking and being worried about other people banging into my car, etc. I want a car that’ll give me 10 years hassle free and I don’t want to worry about someone slamming their door into my car every time I leave it out. It currently has 15k miles.

I think I want the Camry TRD.

Your thoughts?

Sounds like a good move to me.

Yes. Trade that endless money pit POS vehicle for something cheap and reliable.

I laughed when you said you thought it'd last 200,000k and 10 year with minimal maintenance because none of those 4 things were going to happen. My buddy bought a 2019 BMW M3. After 2 years of complimentary free services, his first paid maintenance cost $1200. Then the SUV started to have problems. First, the front wheels were always out of alignment. Then, something went wrong with the starter and one day, check engine light lit up and he had to bring it to BMW again. They charged $500 just to "find" the problem. He has brought the car to independent shops and they all declined to take it in.

I would not recommend buying a Camry TRD.I know Camry is reliable and all the 4 things you mentioned are going to happen. But the ride will be rough compared to your current luxurious BMW.

Get a Camry XLE or a Camry XSE instead. In fact, you get more bells and whistles in the XSE than the TRD. The TRD is just the bumped up version of the SE to be a "racing" vehicle.
