[Solved] Should I trade my wife's 2015 CamrySE for a Lexus ES 350

Hi Scotty, my wife has a 2015 Camry SE 4 cylinder with just 40K miles on it.  It's always been garaged and is super clean.  However, she wants a car with all the latest safety equipment on it, and as we're both retired now wants to treat herself to a more upscale, comfortable car to drive.  I know Toyota's are real reliable and suggest a Lexus ES 350 might fill the bill, but she wants some other recommendations too.  What would you recommend?

I think the Lexus ES350 fits the bill nicely.  It’s hard to find alternatives that will be nearly as reliably as the Camry;  after all, it’s built on a Camry platform (albeit a newer generation Camry platform than yours).  Aside from that, there is the Lexus GS350 (mentioned by kesterpaul above), also a Toyota Avalon (more luxurious version of the Toyota Camry), then you got the Mazda 6 sedan, although avoid the cylinder deactivation that was introduced in model year 2018 on their (otherwise) true and tried 2.5L naturally aspirated I4 engine (their 6-speed Skyactiv-Driv automatic transmission is also very dependable).  The 2.5L turbocharged I4 is also good (and has no cylinder deactivation).

I would say yes. If you want to go a little bigger, find a good used GS. Also have a worthy mechanic look them over too.

Thank you both for your input.  Been looking at the Mazda, the Lexus and the new Genesis G70.  The problem I'm finding with used is that recent year used cars are almost as expensive as brand new.  The problem with new is finding one with the color and equipment we want, or even finding one at all.  We'll keep looking, and hope the chip shortage eases so inventory levels rise.  Thanks again!
