OuJaguar X-TYPE 2006, automatic transmission, 177 thousand miles.

I just recently replaced the back of my cars brake pads, rotars and caliper's because it ceased and wouldn't move. Im TERRIFIED of my front ones locking up and extremely paranoid. 

Leaving the casino tonight (The casino is at the bottom of the hill so I had to ride my brakes down the hill, was in the casino for an hour at most.) 

Leaving the casino I *thought* that my brakes seemed a little stiff, where they were a little firm like they might have been locking up again. I pulled over after a little past the top of the hill and touched my front brake rotor burning the hell out of myself.

I understand that they stop by friction so they need to be a *little* hot? And they didn't smell like my other ones did when they were going bad. But they smelt like... Oil? Or... I dont know how to explain it..anyway, you think they're going bad?

ALSO I need a good car that I might be able to get on trade in through a personal transaction NOT through a dealership. Anyone have good advice on where to look, and what to get?
