Hi there. I have a 2008 Toyota Auris 2ltr Diesel 6 speed manual gearbox. About 3 years ago i had to change the EGR valve as the exhaust was chucking out plumes of black smoke. I have the car serviced on a regular basis but now find that when shifting up the gears i can see smoke from the exhaust. It isn't black or white smoke but somewhere in between. I wouldn't have thought that it was the egr valve again unless they put an inferior one on. The original owner had a new power unit fitted at 28000 as it was using excessive oil which means the current engine has done 62000 miles. Any suggestions as to whether it could be something else?
Yours Sincerely,
tootsie936.
Hy!
Is it blue smoke? Check if it burns oil.
Do you perhaps know if the car was serviced under TSB (Check link for more info)?
Unfortunately you picked a model that was made 2 years after it came out. Those are prone to have 'starting issues' that can drain your wallet.
