Spark plug torque

Hello,

I am planning to change the spark plugs in my 2017 honda crv that just reached over 100k. I bought the oem ngk spark plugs that go into my crv. I looked at some forums on how to change the spark plugs but never saw a consistent torque spec. I saw anywhere from 13 ft lbs-16ft lbs.

I know consistancy between the torque of each plug is key, but where can I find the actual torque specs? Or does anyone know what the torque spec is for the plugs? I don't see anything about spark plugs in my owners manual other than changing them when the maintenance minder tells me to.

Edit: it's a 2017 honda crv ex 1.5t

Thank you,

Mark

13 ft. lbs with anti seize on the threads.

What ever you do, don’t forget to grunt like Scotty when you tighten them snug!

I may be being naughty, but I've never used a torque wrench to install new plugs. I was taught to tighten them until they just snug up with a 3/8" ratchet with anti-seize compound and have never had issues. You don't want to overtighten them in modern engines by accident and strip out an aluminum head -a very expensive mistake to make.

13 ft lb it is! *ugghn*

Also, ngk recommends NOT using anti seize on their spark plugs.

Scotty has said the modern spark plugs are already coated & do not need any anti seize -

Yeah, right. And today's cars come with lifetime transmission fluid too.
