I have a 2006 Suzuki Grand Vitara. I started having white smoke come out of the pipe when I turn the car on and back up. Sometimes it blows the white smoke even after the car is warmed up . Just here and there though not every day. I saw where I could put the steel seal in there in case the head gasket had a leak. I'm thinking maybe that would help ? My question is do you have to drain all of the antifreeze out before you put the steel seal in there or just add the steel seal in there? I understand about turning your heat on and letting it run a half hour but I didn't know if I had to drain the antifreeze or not. Thank you.

It's a one-way road, not something you put it "just in case". you better be dead sure it's a head gasket leak, before putting that stuff in .

whatever it says in the directions on the can.

That stuff and similar products are temporary band-aids at best, may not work at all, and may clog up your cooling system. If your head gasket is leaking the only way to really fix it is to replace it.
Are you losing coolant? Overheating? Any other symptoms? Have you tested for a leaking head gasket?
If you're feeling lucky and want to try a temporary snake oil approach, Scotty has recommended the Bar's Leaks product in the silver bottle.
