Hey Scotty!
I have a 2011 Subaru Legacy 2.5 with 98.000 miles, automatic. Bought it used off the street and did a bunch of repairs and a basic tunes up (Air filter/oil filter) the fuel filter located inside the fuel pump so I couldn't change it.
The car shuts off when I make a semi hard/hard stop at a red light, I can turn it back on right away with no issues. When it doesn't, it idles just fine. I have done a ton of work on it already and the issues was far worst amongst others that are now fixes. The A/T temp light would turn on cause the fan didn't work anymore and replaced it and no further issues for that, also the car would idle more roughly and shut off more frequently at stops while also making a roughly clunking sound when turning back on until I cleaned the Mass airflow sensor, Throttle body and EGR valve.
No check engine light and I used my Code reader, nothing. I I don't know what else to do? Any advice??
Update on the car, I did a Carfax and found out the car Odometer was tampered with and it is not at 97,000 miles, but instead its actually around 184,000 miles unfortunately.
The fuel filter can be changed, it's just a bit of work. The factory maintenance schedule calls for fuel filter replacement at 5 years or 60K miles, whichever comes first.
Also, how old are your spark plugs?

Awesome, I'm definitely gonna watch this and so if i can learn. I'm a novice backyard mechanic to be frank so I'll see if I can muster the charisma for the job.
The spark plugs were replaced with my tune I did but, I actually realize when I changed them the previous owner must have changed them beforehand because they were practically new but I still changed them regardless. One of the ignition coil gasket grommet also is missing on one of my ignition coils. Don't know if that can affect the car.

Yikes! I'd report the seller.

Thank you for this information, I'm look into this.
The guy bought it off an auto auction and than sold it to me off the street.
Sounds like a pretty dicey deal, hope you didn't pay too much for it!
So why didn't you get the Carfax before you bought it?
I unfortunately did not have my free carfax report from AAA until after the purchase and felt the car was running great at the time.
Need the car right away aswell.
Check the power brake booster (big black thing on the firewall in front of the driver) and the large vacuum hose connecting it to the engine. If the diaphragm inside is slightly torn, or the hose leaks, pressing hard on the brakes can cause a large vacuum leak that stalls the engine. Oftentimes, there's no other indication of this leak, as the system is fine when there is no brake pedal being pressed.
