Hi all,
Wife has an RX 350 2017 that just had water pump and head gasket (small leak) replaced professionally. The temperature gauge usually centered in the middle prior to this. But it slightly shifts toward cold more. Small but noticeable shift. Any contributing factors to this? Any future issue?
I also have an rx 330, where the temperature gauge slightly shift toward hot? Small but noticeable too.
Any input would be great? Thank yoi
I need to address the elephant in the room - why’d you have a leaking head gasket in a 4 yr old Lexus? Just out of the blue?
Clarification: What is the mileage on both vehicles?
If you hook up a scan tool, what does it read now for engine coolant temperature? What did it read before?
A Blue Driver scan tool will report both Enhanced Diagnostics and Live Data (including engine temp). It will help you see if these engines are operating within the intended range of temperatures.
After you have some actual data, you can check the Technical Service Bulletins in these models and years (from car complaints.com) and see if there's a relevant TSB.
Personally, as long as it didn’t overheat, I’d just let it be..
Did they replace the thermostat as part of the head gasket repair?
No, they did not. Thank you. Do you think the amount of fluid is not correct?
