Hey Scotty, not so much a question but more looking for your thoughts on a 6 speed manual transmission accord. I've recently sold my f150 for 4 grand over what I paid sticker on it used a 2 years ago. I downsized to the 3.5L v6 Accord Coupe (also to learn standard on). I was worried about the EarthDream engines potentially burning oil, however when I purchased it and had the inspection done, the analysis was that the oil consumption was normal and there was no indication of any burning. Is there anything you would watch out for in the future?
Thanks!
the analysis was that the oil consumption was normal
Could you please clarify what was done for the analysis?
Accord oil consumption problems have pertained to the V6's with automatic transmissions due to Cylinder de-activation. And that problem was supposedly resolved by your generation Accord. The 2013-2017 Accord V6 with MT do not have cylinder deactivation and as far as I know should not have consumption issues
If you're consuming oil, its due to something else
Who did the analysis, the dealer that sold you the car?? The one true way to measure the volumetric efficiency of an engine is to get a dry and wet compression test. Was this performed?
