Hello - I recently bought a new Toyota Camry LE 2021 regular engine 4-cylinder. It has 3000 miles on it. The only issue I notice is that at a slow speed when I hit the acceleration I notice slight engine hesitation. When you press the gas hard it take millisecond hiccup then shoots. Once it takes off this car has really good power no issues there. It is just at a lower speed or when you press the gas pedal hard. This is not a normal driving behavior. There is no Engine check light ON or any other.
I am planning to take it to the dealership next week any advise as to what to expect and tell them that I should know before hand?
I have read other places that this Camry has smaller intake system that could cause this hiccup?
Please assist
I also forgot to mention that a lower speed it jerks for 2 seconds then gets back to its speed, is that also normal behavior with this model?
Idk how you drive, but yes. Mine is a 2019 so it's same gen (2018+) There is a whole forum that you can Google that talks about the quirks of the A25A engine with it's paired 8 speed auto trans. TLDR,it's a feature that is suppose to make you feel like you are driving a standard trans or something like that.
It's normal to have some delay when going full throttle from a rolling cruise. The transmission has to find the gear and engage it, and the throttle and fuel system have to sync up.
It's not a sports car designed for flawless instant acceleration. A "millisecond" delay is normal.
I have a 2021 Camry SE. It does the same, and that's normal.
