Hi Scotty!
I have a 2004 Toyota Celica 1.8 1zz-fe 143 hp, 360.000km, manual transmission with floppy timing chain. Is it normal to be like that or does it need to be changed? Car runs fine, i was doing a valve cover gasket when i saw the chain a little loose

Thank you!
It needs change and that's too loose that are the tensioner isn't tensioning it enough
Hello!
Is there any moment in wich the timing chain is normal to be a little lose? I've seen a video in wich a guy rotates the cams and only in one exact position the timing chain changes from stiff to a little loose. Is that thing normal?
I'm asking this because i changed the valve cover gasket on my '04 Celica, 360k km manual tranny, and i had the BIGGEST unlucky moment to find the cams sitting in the position that makes the chain loose, so i thought omg i need a timing chain kit asap.. Please watch the video from minute 4:30 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q9m6zVxqpKc
All i want to know if it's normal to get loose at that cams positions or is there something wrong with the tensioner
Thank you so much!
I have to add this: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/FtXgG1eYyYY
This video was taken by me and you can compare the camshaft positions from my video with the camshaft position form the first youtube link (minute 4:30). They are in the same position (i know, very bad luck..). I got scared when i saw mine was loose. I dont know..the car runs fine.. it sometimes makes an ugly noise on cold startups that last 1-2 seconds. I went to couple mechanics and they said i need the timing chain kit because it should never be loose no matter the position, but i'm not sure
I have to add this:> ...
