Toyota Corolla LE starter life

Tell Scotty he is correct.  On a recent show, he mentioned the starter (Nippo-Denso) unit was about the unique flaw on the 1.8 series of engines.  Mine failed after only 71,000 miles.  Of course, it was snowing outside and I could not drive anywhere to get the starter so I reluctantly got the car to a local Asian car place to get it replaces.  After$475.00, I was back on the road again.  I know other Toyotas which have over 200,000 mile still using the same OEM unit.

Well the starters do wear out. That's probably is one of the weaker points on Toyota's. And of course it depends on how many times you start to stop your car if you drive on the highway all the time. You putting thousands of miles when you're never starting it and shutting it down all the time. But if you live in the city you're turning on and off course, it's going to wear out faster
