Hey guys recently Toyota released in Europe the Toyota yaris cross its a B-SUV a little smaller than a regular SUV and im thinking of buying it.
Should i go and buy it or it is more safe to wait a year to see if there is any problems etc? i don't know yet which version i will pick the hybrid or regular,
In my Country (Greece) Toyota is the dominant seller.

On this forum we have reviewed the Yaris Cross' engine. It's a 1.5L 3 cylinder brand new design and about 85% of the forum members said they either wouldn't trust in either at all or in the next 10-15 years.

It's transmission is a relatively new design, it's been out for a couple of years now, and yet it's still a questionable design. Toyota brags about small pulleys and bearings inside of that CVT, but to me it just seems like they've heaped out.
Personally I was interested in that car, and test drove one : it's sporty and nice to drive, seats are great, I loved the profile of the tires (on the 205/65R16) - 5.2" (13cm) of sidewall just cushioning everything, not thin tires like so many other modern cars. BUT, the engine and transmission, don't sound bad - but they are very loud, the infotainment system is crappy and I just think it's as good as others, especially considering it's quite pricy for a such a small SUV.
I was not particularly impressed and considering how new all of that tech is, I'd wait - a lot.
Speaking of the "info":
Modern Honda transmissions are the worst from a mechanical standpoint. their 9-speed automatic is the exact same one as used on FIATs (ZF 9HP) and their CVT transmissions just keep braking down - considering injector issues and very mixed opinions on their earth dreams engine, they're definitely not "kings".
And then you list the worst in your opinion, But when you say Opel why don't you say Citroën and Peugeot?
All modern Opel cars share everything with them since 2017. mechanically, Corsa (F) is based on the Peugeot (P21) 208, Opel Crossland is based Peugeot 2008 (P24), the Opel GrandLand is based on the Peugeot 3008 (P84) and so on... BUT, If you mean old Opel cars, they're based on Chevroelts Opel Astra is based on the Chevy Cruze, even the new Opel Insignia is based on the Chevrolet Malibu. It's not like Opel makes cars by themselves.
Also funnily enough a lot of modern Opel cars have the EAT8 transmission, derived from what Toyota uses on the Camry, so usually solid automatics.
And then you say Renault, Renaults in the recent past have been basically the same as Nissan. same Jatco CVT, same engines. Mechanically, I haven't found a difference between the Nissan Rouge (Qashqai) and Renualt Kadjar, same with the older Renault Clio and Nissan Micra, and Renault Captur and Nissan Juke being mechanically very similar (Juke has a Renault H5Dt, and the Captur has a Renault H4Bt).
So are Renault bad and Nissans good? when for the last 10±5 years they've been almost identical.
Also as of recently, The new Mitsubishi Outlander has the same Nissan PR25DD engine as the Nissan X-trail, if you read about you'll find out that Mitsubishi is also merging into the Renault-Nissan alliance.
Judging cars by their brand in 2022 is almost useless since everyone are working together, it's what under the hood that matters.
I really really liked the Yaris cross for me it was perfect for me, it was the right size with one kid etc, i did a test drive of the hybrid from a friend (Adventure i think was the model ) 30.500 usd was the price he bought it with few extras, first impression i did not like the door sound felt a bit cheap ,the interior was ok pretty standard looking for a toyota nothing extreme it was ok, i did not enjoy the CVT transmission, it was my first time with automatic it felt weird, it start driving with the battery then the engine start smooth i did not feel weird from the transition but at higher rpm the engine noise was bit loud.
I need a bigger car soon we cant fit inside a Yaris
i was also looking in a different type of car, Toyota Auris. What do you think about that car?
I will go for a used one Diesel manual transmission
