Hi I have a 2004 trailblazer that has a frame with some fairly significant rust issues. The issue I'm having is that I have gotten wildly varying opinions as to whether it can or cannot be repaired! A few people that have looked at it said no it definitely cannot be repaired... But then I've got a few other people that have looked at it that have said yes it definitely can be repaired and say they can do it. I apologize in advance for the description! If you are at the back of the truck and you look just in front of the rear tires through the wheel well you can see I think it's what's called the shackle and it has completely rusted and separated from the frame. The last time I drove it it kind of scared me... For lack of a better way to explain it, I went to stop and it was like the tires stopped but the body of the truck continued to move kind of forward and to the side! Kind of a floating feeling but it was bad enough that I turned around went home and parked it in the driveway and have not drove it since. It was my daily driver, have had it a little over 2 years now and could not have asked for a better running vehicle. The only thing that I've had to do to it in the two years that I have had it is replaced one ignition coil. I would love to think the truck can be repaired... it just makes me sick to think that I'm just going to have to part it out, but I don't want to have the work done think it's repaired and then the frame end up snapping and get in a wreck. My question is how do I know if it is able to be saved repaired or if it's beyond being able to do anything with it?
