Hey does anyone know the cause behind a transfer case "jumping"? 2006 Silverado 4wd while going up hill in 4wd, the transfer case thumps about every rotation and i can see it jump under the truck when outside of the truck. The seal has been leaking and about to replace it. Any thoughts?
Thanks

Are you driving off-road, or on a dry, paved surface? If you're on the latter, you're binding up the drivetrain.

When was the last time you changed the transfer case lubricant? Check mounting bolts to the transmission for tightness.

There's a chain drive inside the transfer case. If everything else checks out sounds like the chain and/or gears are worn out.
