Hello, today my engine dashboard indicate showed maximum temperature and stated I needed to pullover and stop the vehicle to prevent engine damage. I checked the coolant reservoir and it was empty with coolant all over the surface of the engine cover but didn't find any broken hoses. I refilled it at the nearest Walmart and drove to the dealership but they were closed . I observed that speeds under 40 mph allowed the temperature to remain midpoint but over 60 mph it quickly (5-10 mins) increased to higher then red. Thank goodness today's temperature were 38-40 degrees fahrenheit so turning off the ignition made a quick recovery. Also, I recently replaced my original transmission fluid J3 for CVT in 2011 Mitsubishi Outlander SE that was green with Genuine Mitsubishi J4 J1 CVT Transmission Fluid - 5 Quarts - MZ320185 but it was red and when I go over 40 miles the engine temperature become very high and requires me to pull over and stop. So, I suspect this fuild change is the source of the problem.

Why in the world would you suspect that changing transmission fluid would cause the engine to overheat?
You have a cooling system problem. See the site FAQ section on diagnosing an overheating condition.
