Soooo. How important are the magnets on the bottom on the trans pan cause some like to forget to put the back in....mind you its 02 mish montero sport ...140k plus some change
To get the most life out of the transmission you always want clean fluid circulating, so the magnetic is there to capture the ferrous metal particles.
😥 😐 awwww ok ....so put them back in
Well, it's good to have to any metal shavings don't float around in the fluid
The old trans fluid ...was kinda like a good ole cup of coffee with a splash of creamer
You're lucky it didn't burn out lol
I drove let's say 40 mins and like my 25 of the mins I smelled the smell and heard the rear end whinning
Is the rear diff still whining?
I'm not sure but I was Google ing about transmission smell and how I could tell if somethings wrong and it told me that you could hear the back of the car whining would be one of the signs
Glue the magnet from the outside of the pan. Better than nothing.
Not a good idea to glue the magnets from outside the pan...kind of a mickey mouse job in my opinion and it will definitely not help catch metal shavings effectively. Just take off the pan and put them back in, and refill with whatever fluid came out. Those magnets are very important.
Yeaaa I kinda figured that
