Transmission Slip

I bought a 2008 Lexus IS350 with 130k miles. The automatic transmission was slipping in 2nd and 4th gear so I changed the trans filter and fluid and it got worse. I lost 4th, 5th and 6th gear so I added the 24oz Lucas transmission slip fix additive and all shifts returned. It was truly a miracle. I have driven the car for about 300 miles and it shifts much better but 2nd and 4th still slip sometimes. Will it hurt to add a second bottle of the 24oz Lucas additive?

Thanks Scotty. I watch your videos every day.

Hate to break it to you, you bought a car with a bad transmission.

Scotty's said this before, when a transmission is slipping and you change the fluid & filter, keep the old fluid around because if the new fluid slips even worse you can atleast put the old stuff back in. I know it sounds crazy that an older, dirty fluid would perform better but its true. This is because the dirty fluid actually has more friction in it because well, its dirty. The new fluid can be too slick for a worn transmission.

That Lucas transmission slip fix is a band aid. Works for a bit but eventually will start slipping again, and continue to get worse until it doesnt more.

You'll need a new transmission soon.
