Greetings Scotty,
I am a huge fan of your work, and would like to solicit your expertise regarding my 2007 BMW X5 e70. To date, it has served me well but with costly routine maintenance. I have been contemplating selling/trading it for a 2007-2010 Lexus GS 350. The motivating factor is obviously that Toyota/Lexus have superior build quality. I am transitioning into retirement, and another monthly car payment just aint part of the plan. I eagerly await your response - thanks in advance!
Best decision ever!
Just be sure to have the car inspected thoroughly by a professional mechanic, before you buy it.
The Lexus (if well maintained previously) will be a joy to live with, compared to that money pit BMW!
Thank you Scotty...I'll most certainly take that as confirmation...YOU ARE THE MAN!
I’m not Scotty, just answering questions on this website. However, I hope you watched Scotty’s video on the GS350, which I linked above, to hear Scotty’s own opinion. Good luck!
@ InThrustWeTrust - Thank you for the clarity, as I am equally appreciative for your response.
No worries, mate.
I would also say go for it. You don't need costly maintenance in retirement for sure.
X5 to GS? Go for it!
I'm retired and since retirement have moved to a ES350 - FWD, not RWD, but I love the car. Good luck to you. If it checke out, I don't think you can go wrong with a Lexus sedan.
I am on my 2nd BMW X-3. I had a 2005 3.0; great car, but the Texas heat and Sun destroyed the interior. It still got 32 MPG after it was 15 years old. It wasn't a "Money Pit"; because I maintained it well. My 'new' one is a 2012 X-3 325i with the N52 engine. I believe that the previous owner took good care of it. I bought it from Carvana {it came from Nevada}. It has 86,000 Miles on it; and it runs like it is on steroids { no Turbo }. I am learning more about it every time I drive it. I hope to get 120,000 out of it!
It is the most fun I have ever had!
I had a 2007 BMW X5. Great car. Just an arm, leg, and torso to maintain.
How many miles you have on yours?
