Hey Scotty & team!
My mom has a 1990 chevy c1500 that started making this sound (voice memo below). The truck is an automatic 5.7L V8 with 92,000 miles. It was last driven or turned on in May 2021. When I started it up yesterday the noise in the engine threw me for a loop & I can't figure out where it's coming from. My mom says it's always made this sound, but I don't buy that. I'll be around for a couple of months & would like to get the truck in decent running condition. I'm hopeful you guys can lead me in the right direction.

Well remove the fan belts and pray the noise goes away and it would be a worn alternator or water pump but if the noise stays it's internal to the engine and that is not good news could be a warn timing chain or other internal wear
